As you work your way into the courtyard you will pass by a statue of
Saint Francis and several fountains.
At the back of the courtyard, near the entrance to the room that shows
a video about the Mission, is a nice cactus garden. |
| Do spend the 12 minutes or so to watch the Mission video. It is interesting
and informative. The room in which the video is shown also contains a number
of pictures of the Mission at various points in history as well as a wonderful
painting that effectively respresents key selections from the entire Bible. |

After watching the video and exploring the room, exit back into the Peyri Court
and go back to the front of the courtyard. Turn left toward the sacred garden
but stop in the archway between the two areas. There you will find some displays
including a brandy still and two different models of the Mission. One of these
contains drawings of the Mission at various stages in its development.

Beyond the archway is the inner sacred garden. You are not allowed into the
garden itself but do have a nice view of it from the allowed viewing area as
you can see from the panorama of three pictures shown here.
